Are AlphaStar Academy courses accredited?

Accepted Answer

Yes. AlphaStar Academy courses are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) as a Supplementary Education Program.

Accreditation doesn't mean that you can skip the courses at your school. The schools have the final decision in accepting the courses for credit or not.

What is the typical class structure for the Fundamental courses?

For our “live” courses, a typical class session consists of a lecture on any new topics/theorems for that chapter, followed by a set of example problems that illustrate the topics from that chapter. These courses also include review/exam sessions where the instructor reviews the previous chapters’ material and answers students’ questions.

What should I do to avoid multiple LMS accounts?

How do I find which course is right for me/my student?

If you are new to math competitions, we generally recommend starting with the following levels:

MC15 (Elementary School)
MC20 (Middle School)
MC30 (High School)

After reading the course descriptions and taking the diagnostic exam, if you are still not sure about the right level, we encourage you to schedule a free online consultation. You can also email us at info@alphastar.academy with your student background (grade, exam result, any official/practice contest results, if any), and we will be happy to recommend a level for you.

Can I use AlphaStar courses to skip courses in school?

Are the materials (lecture notes, homework, quizzes) printable/downloadable?

Accepted Answer

(MATH) Lecture notes are in pdf format and can be downloaded. But the homework, quiz and exams are interactive and the solutions not in pdf format. (CS) All materials are online and mostly not in pdf format. If you would like to save them, you need to copy and paste from the screen.
